The last surviving 28th Maori Battalion veteran to leave Wairarapa for the second World War has died at the age of 88; An independent inquiry has found child abuse and family violence amongst Maori is costing the country up to three-point-four billion dollars; The incoming Te Papa Tongarewa chief executive says the museum has a responsibility to support taonga staying in New Zealand; A school's radio station, community initiatives and a top educator were just some of those honoured for their contribution to promoting Te Reo Maori at this year's Maori Language Commission awards in Rotorua.
