Pregnant Maori women who experience domestic violence are more likely to face potential problems when trying to access health care, according to a study by researchers at the University of Auckland. A Maori film and television group says it wants Te Mangai Paho - the Maori Broadcasting Funding Agency - to reconsider ring-fencing three-million dollars for TVNZ shows. Te Whanau o Waipareira in Auckland says its new research hub will help the North Island's Whanau Ora Commissioning Agency identify which areas need the most attention. Ngati Kahungunu Iwi (Incorporated) is calling on hapū and whānau to bring fresh ideas to hui discussing the best ways to protect their water rights and the environment.
