Ngai Tahu has confirmed the former head of news and production at Maori Television, Julian Wilcox, is to take charge of its media team; The Rotorua Chamber of Commerce says it would welcome Maori Television if it decides to move to the area, which would be central to both Auckland and Tauranga; The Maori Party is condemning the labour law changes because it says they largely weaken the rights of tangata whenua, Pasifika people and women; An Auckland Maori Trust says its newly launched research hub, aims to find out from the community how to fix social problems such as domestic violence and poverty.
