Some staff at Television New Zealand are angry and disappointed that their jobs could be on the line, after the broadcaster announced it wants to outsource producers for its Maori and Pacific programming; Ngati Whatua Orakei, Auckland's biggest hapu, says it backs the work of the conservation group, Sea Shepherd, and has shown its support by officially welcoming one of its ships to Waitemata Harbour; The best of Maori performing arts has been chosen above other cultures in the South Pacific to represent the Oceania region at the inaugural Association of National Olympic Committee Gala awards next month; Students at Wellington High School have helped create the new Maori school name.
