Call for national plan to help pregnant smokers

The Waikato District Health Board's Maori health unit is urging the government to develop a national plan directed at helping pregnant smokers quit tobacco to prevent babies from dying. Te Puna Oranga has found about half of the 400 pregnant Maori women in the district are smokers, and it's aiming to change that.
