Three north Taranaki hapu are holding peaceful protests at two sites in Waitara in opposition of Te Atiawa's recent treaty settlement; A Maori-owned Kiwifruit business says it expects with the increased interest from Maori in starting orchards, it will see it command 15% of the billion dollar industry; The Maori Party launched its Education Policy today and wants to increase the number of free hours for kohanga reo and early childhood to 30 per week; Meanwhile, the Maori Party's List candidate, Tame Iti, is cycling from Ruatoki to Auckland in support of his fellow candidates.
