Two Bay of Plenty whanau ora collectives say they're optimistic an agreement reached with government agency Pharmac will ultimately lead to better health for Maori in their rohe; There has been a slight increase in the number of Maori in employment; An ACT party board member and Dunedin North candidate, Guy McCallum, has resigned from the party in protest at the leader's controversial race relations speech last week, which appalled some tangata whenua; A Ngati Hine leader has told the Waitangi Tribunal his people have been striving to reclaim self-governance since the arrival of Europeans.
