In his 33-year career as a hospice social worker, Scott Janssen has been at the bedside of thousands of people as they have approached death. As an atheist, he didn’t believe in death-bed visitations or end-of-life visions but, after witnessing and hearing the accounts of many, many patients, he’s had a change of heart.
