Megan Rae lives a life many people on the planet can only dream of. She has a PhD in linguistics and runs a school at one of just two Italian universities specialising in languages, Ca'foscari University of Venice, which has a shared programme with Harvard University. The international tourists are gone, the canals are so quiet you can see fish in the water and in the middle of lockdown, unable to go anywhere, Megan, who grew up in Takapuna, gave birth to her first child Mathilde in the middle of this crazy time. She calls home from Campo Santa Margherita just off Venice's Grand Canal.
