Sarah Knight had a successful career in publishing but after 15 years working in New York City's top publishing houses, she reached an epiphany in life. The desire to be happy. So Sarah decided she would stop caring so much about what other people think and live her life.

And it's a life lesson she is sharing in her book The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a Fuck: How to stop spending time you don’t have doing things you don’t want to do with people you don’t like.

In this interview with Wallace Chapman, Sarah explains that she is an advocate for "embracing the selfish gene" and using a combination of honesty and politeness to find happiness.

"I think it's important to take care of yourself and strive for happiness, and strive for that balance between what you have to do versus the things you want to do, to be a better person all-around."
