Huhu grubs are the larvae of the huhu beetle and were a prized traditional food source for Maori who ate them raw. These days they are a bit out of favour - but a recent study may change that. For the first time, the nutritional value of huhu grubs has been assessed. Joining us to share the findings is lead author of the study, Ruchita Rao Kavle who is a Food Science PhD student at the University of Otago.
