From guitar techs to drum techs, stage managers to tour managers and pyrotechnics technicians, the roadie is the unheralded champion of live music, handling every part of the production except actually playing the music. Aside from a smattering of songs that pay tribute to their labour such as Motörhead's '(We Are) The Road Crew', roadies are generally uncredited. The Secret Life of Roadies redresses the balance, presenting untold tales of road-honed roadies and the in and outs of their daily/nightly grind as they attempt to get the best out of venues and performers. Sam Wicks talks to crew members Eugene Pope and Justin Doyle.
