Walter Becker, co-founder of the influential jazz-rock band Steely Dan, died last Sunday the 3rd, aged 67. The cause of death hasn't been confirmed

Becker, who played lead and bass guitar, formed Steely Dan with Donald Fagen, its keyboardist and lead vocalist. In its heyday in the 1970s, the band scored hits with Reelin' in the Years, Do It Again, Rikki Don't Lose That Number and Deacon Blues.

LNP - tonight, the New York Rock And Soul Revue - a series of live performances at the Beacon Theatre in Manhattan that lasted from 1989 to 1992. The project was led by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker and included Phoebe Snow, Michael McDonald, Boz Scaggs, Eddie Brigati (formerly of The Rascals), David Brigati (also of The Rascals), the late Charles Brown, (soloist and co-founder of Steely Dan).
