Veronika Meduna joins Victoria University glaciologist Nancy Bertler on a tour of the state-of-the-art NZ Ice Core Research Laboratory in Gracefield.
Veronika also talks to Lisa Matisoo Smith, an anthropologist at the University of Auckland, who's studied ancient DNA from fossil pigs to trace back the origin of Pacific pigs, to help trace their, and people's, migration path into Polynesia.

Dacia Herbulock learns about warring ant colonies with entomologist Phil Lester of Victoria University, as he shares his research on invasive Argentine ants and how native ant species are helping to control their expansion.
(Note: Phil Lester will be giving a public talk on his research on Argentine ants next Tuesday April 24 at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Wellington.
