Living with kidney failure or kidney disease can be a long and harrowing journey for those who experience it.  Whether it’s the initial decision to undergo  surgery so that dialysis treatment can begin, to the harrowing hours endured hooked up to a machine, and then the long wait for a transplant.

This week Sonia Sly finds out about the upside of home dialysis treatment which has been instigated in Christchurch through Nurse Maude, and the story of one man who has survived the entire journey and proves that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
