From Nine To Noon, 10:08 am on 3 June 2014

Dr Christopher Dey is a senior researcher in renewable energy and sustainability analysis at the University of Sydney's School of Physics. His previous research includes the development of sustainability reporting software for business, and a strategic energy planning model for the University of Sydney. He's an expert on tracking environmental footprints - and on initiatives to reduce an environmental footprint. This is where collaborative consumption fits in, It is about sharing goods and services on a local, and a global scale. It's been picked as one of the top trends, and named by Time magazine as one of the ten ideas that could change the world. It's evident in marketplaces such as EBay and Craigslist, in emerging sectors such as social lending, peer to peer travel and accommodation services, and car sharing.
