For retired Whangarei man, Bernie Patterson, combing beaches and parks with a metal detector has been a three decade passion, leading to many interesting and precious finds. Auckland couple Jeff and Vivienne Ninnes have been reunited with a diamond and sapphire engagement ring they lost six years ago.
