Dolly Parton has a new album out entitled Blue Smoke, and is playing two shows at Auckland's Vector Arena on 7 and 8 February. She is as active as ever. Born the fourth of 12 children in rural Tennessee, Dolly Parton has had an extraordinary career as a singer, songwriter, actress and TV entertainer. She started recording in 1962 but didn't really achieve any fame until she began dueting with Porter Wagoner on his TV show in the late 1960s. Her solo career eventually took off in the early 70's, thanks to songs like Coat Of Many Colors, Jolene, and I Will Always Love You. She broke into mainstream success in the late 70's and early 80's with songs such as Here You Come Again, and her appearance in the film 9 To 5. Lately her music has gone back to her Tennessee roots with albums like The Grass Is Blue and Little Sparrow. Her latest album, Blue Smoke, was just released. Tracks: 1. The Last Thing On My Mind - Porter Wagoner & Dolly Parton taken from 1967 single (RCA) 2. Jolene - Dolly Parton taken from 1974 album, 'Jolene' (RCA) 3.
