Ross Harris - Composer

Ross Harris is one of this country's leading composers, having written more than 200 compositions including opera, symphonic music, chamber music, klezmer and electronic music. He retired from the music department at Victoria University in 2004 after teaching composition for more than 30 years. These last eight years have been some of his busiest, finally having the time to do more of his own thing. Next week the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, for whom Ross Harris was Composer-In-Residence, will premiere his Symphony, No.5.
