A US political analyst says New Zealand needs to ride out the current America first focus of President Donald Trump's second term, and that opportunities are there to strengthen relations.
Professor Dan Schnur teaches at the University of California Berkeley and the University of Southern California and has worked on four presidential campaigns, including John McCain's in 2000.
He's speaking this morning at the US Business Summit in Auckland.
