Seamus Kearney discusses the serious divisions opening up in the EU over how to deal with the Israel-Hamas conflict and how it's playing out in Gaza. Some countries have been calling for a ceasefire, while others share Israel's concerns it would give Hamas time to regroup.

Meanwhile Ukraine has received reassurances it will not be forgotten amid the conflict in the Middle East. In a joint statement after a summit in Brussels, EU leaders vowed to continue financial, military and humanitarian support to Ukraine for "as long as it takes".

And a shocking new report in Spain has detailed the scale of abuse of children by Catholic priests and other church staff.
