The biggest change to our health system in two decades kick-in today with the establishment of Health New Zealand and the Maori Health Authority.

The government says the new system will strive for equity of access to healthcare for all New Zealanders - regardless of ethinicity or geographic location.

Kathryn speaks with the Chief Executive of the Maori Health Authority, Riana Manuel; Maori GP and Maori health equity activist, Dr Rawiri McKree Jansen and Sarah Dalton from the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists.
