Erna Walraven is an Australia-based wildlife specialist and consultant who spent 12 years as a keeper at Sydney's Taronga Zoo before moving on to be a senior curator for the next two decades where she was responsible for the scientific management of 400 species.

She written a number of books about Australia's wildlife, how to rescue and rehabilitate oiled birds and animal leadership.

Her latest book is Wild Fathers - What Wild Animal Dads Teach Us About Fatherhood, which is packed with facts about how males of various species approach courtship, mating and parenting.

The result is an informative, and sometimes humourous, look at animal dads in the natural world and what comparisons - or even tips - there might be for fatherhood in humans.
