UK to go to polls Dec 12

From Nine To Noon, 9:35 am on 30 October 2019

Prime Minister Boris Johnson's bill calling for a December 12 election has just passed its final reading, backed overwhelmingly by MPs 438 to 20.

The bill now goes to the House of Lords which is expected to wave it through.

Lawmakers earlier rejected a Labour proposal to change the date to December 9.

It'll be the first December poll in almost a century.

In other developments, 10 of 21 rebel MPs who were kicked out of the Tory party have been welcomed back.
