A new study has found that for Pacific youth, gambling is an activity that begins at home with friends and family. Almost a third of 17-year-olds in the survey, which was funded by the Ministry of Health and carried out by researchers at AUT, had gambled for money in the previous year.

The study's release coincides with the government's  new gambling harm minimisation strategy. The report's lead author Dr Maria Bellringer joins Kathryn to discuss how and why Pacific teens are exposed to gambling.
