Queens Wharf cruise ship proposal approaches critical stage

From Nine To Noon, 9:08 am on 4 March 2019

The independent hearing into a proposed extension to Auckland's Queens Wharf, to allow huge cruise ships to berth has heard a chorus of objections from multiple community groups. The development arm of the Auckland Council, Panuku, is applying to build a 90 metre long concrete extension, called a dolphin structure, into the Waitemata Harbour. Panuku Project Manager, John Smith tells Kathryn why the upgrade to Queens Wharf is being sought, and Michael Goldwater from lobby group Stop Stealing Our Harbour outlines the opposition to it.
