New Zealand's only independent rug repairer Anna Williams has found herself the subject of a documentary that also involves an Iranian tribe and the British broadcaster and naturalist, Sir David Attenborough. The story begins with Anna's friendship with the Qashqai people whom she had long been fascinated with and also her passion for textiles and rugs. She has traveled to Iran 7 times, visiting the Qashqai and loves learning about the detail and techniques of their rugs and carpets. Documentary maker, Anna Cottrell knew it would make compelling viewing and to add to the story, David Attenborough was involved. The story is told in The Kiwi, The Knight and the Qashqai which will be screened on November 26th on Choice TV at 8.30pm. Anna Williams joins Kathryn to talk about her passions, her pathway into rug repairing and being the subject of a documentary.
