Why is palm kernel use declining on farms?

Imports of palm kernel extract dropped from 2.2 million tonnes in 2015 to 1.5 million tonnes last year. State owned Landcorp, the country's largest farmer, has announced it will stop using Palm Kernal extract on its farms from mid year.
