Was Stats NZ's data back-up resilient enough?

Almost a month on from the massive magnitude 7.8 earthquake which shook the top of the South Island and Wellington several government departments based in the capital are still trying to recover from the quake. Statistics NZ has faced a struggle to retrieve the vital data which is used to determine critical figures like the Gross Domestic Product and Balance of Payments.
