Devon Mclean believes philanthropy in conservation a is the way of the future.

He's the director of Project Janszoon  which is working to protect and preserve Abel Tasman National Park, thanks to 25 million dollars of funding from philanthropists Neil and Annette Plowman

Project Janszoon is a private trust working in partnership with the Department of Conservation to restore the Abel Tasman National Park. The aim is to reduce predator numbers within the Abel Tasman, to levels where birds can survive.

Devon McLean is also the chair of Predator Free New Zealand, a founder of Project Crimson - a trust aiming to protect the Pohutukawa and Rata trees, and environmental advisor to the 100 million dollar NEXT foundation - funded again by the Plowmans.
