Junior doctors want action on bullying and discrimination

From Nine To Noon, 9:28 am on 10 September 2015

The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons has apologised to all of those who have been victims of bullying, and says a culture change is needed. The College has accepted the findings of an inquiry which found that half of surgeons were subjected to discrimination, bullying or sexual harassment and that most of the cases were not dealt with appropriately. The Resident Doctors' Association says similar problems exist in New Zealand and it hopes an action plan to tackle discrimination and bullying will be agreed to by the whole profession and DHBs later this month.
