Kiwi recipient of one of the world's top academic fellowships

Twenty-six-year-old New Zealander Max Harris has been elected as an Examination Fellow at All Souls College, Oxford. The seven-year fellowship is one of the world's most competitive and prestigious academic awards. Max will have his board and meals looked after at the college, while he spends seven years studying anything he likes, with no particular publication or teaching requirements. The exams to attain one of the fellowships are renowned as some of the most difficult around, and Max sat them while awaiting surgery for a serious health problem he'd just found out he had. Max is a former Auckland University law student, a recipient of the Rhodes Scholarship for his two Masters degrees (in law and public policy), a former law clerk to New Zealand's Chief Justice, and intern with the UNDP in New York.
