Simon Biggs is a professor of gerontology and social policy at the University of Melbourne. He is renowned for his research on topics ranging from age-friendly cities and workplaces to elder abuse and neglect. He was the chief investigator on the first national prevalence study of elder abuse and neglect in the UK and is a founding member of the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on Ageing Societies. Professor Biggs is in New Zealand to give a series of talks and is being hosted by Victoria University's Institute for Governance and Policy Studies and the New Zealand Association of Gerontology.
