Bruce Rifle Club

From News Special, 5:43 pm on 17 March 2019

A hunter who visited a gun club frequented by the accused mass murderer, Brenton Tarrant, says he raised concerns about the club with police, but nothing was done. Pete Breidahl posted a video on Facebook about his visit to the Bruce Rifle Club, south of Dunedin, a few years ago. He says he was so concerned about some people at the club, he went and spoke to a police arms officer. The Bruce Rifle Club's vice president, Scott Williams, says he has made the police aware of the comments posted on Facebook. He earlier confirmed that Brenton Tarratnhas been a member since last year. He said the Club's 107 members represent a broad cross-section of society and a diverse range of races, religions, occupations and backgrounds - all of whom have been found fit and proper by NZ Police to hold Firearms Licenses. Mr Williams says the Rifle Club's Executive Committee is continuing to assist NZ Police with their inquiries.
