Eftpos machine thrown at killer

A man at the Linwood mosque in Christchurch may have saved dozens of lives when he hurled an Eftpos machine at the mass killer and then picked up a gun and confronted him. Abdul Aziz, who owns a furniture shop in Riccarton, was at the Linwood Mosque when the attacker opened fire on the people praying inside. After the shooting started Mr Aziz hurled the Eftpos machine at the assailant and ran between cars, dodging bullets. According to latest reports, of the 50 people who lost their lives on Friday, about 42 people died the Al Noor Mosque and seven at the Linwood Mosque, where Mr Aziz confronted the attacker.
