Raucous Australian rock duo DZ Deathrays were in town last week to perform with local partners in crime Die! Die! Die! at Auckland’s Kings Arms. The show was as loud and thrashy as you’d anticipate, but their new album, Black Rat, represents a surprising shift in direction for the group – two-piece noise-rock assembled like a dance record.
