Since Maree Sheehan's nomination in the most promising vocalist category at the 1993 Music Awards the singer-songwriter has spent more time behind the scenes than out front. Sheehan squeezes writing soundtracks for film and TV between her roles lecturing at Te Ara Poutama and mentoring young musicians, but this week she releases a new album, Chasing the Light. Ann Savoy, her husband Marc Savoy and their two sons Joel and Wilson are on a mission to preserve the Cajun flavours of their homeland, Louisiana. Ann joins us to share Southern stories before their performance at WOMAD Taranaki in March. The Music Mix heads along to the annual shindig to find another label has been added to the bill. We talk to Arch Hill Records founder and new Flying Nun boss Ben Howe, who somehow finds time to run two big labels and manage numerous bands while balancing his role being Mark Kneebone's right hand man bringing the Laneway festival to these shores.
