English duo turned trio Darkstar are electronic innovators on the uber-hip Hyperdub label. They're influenced by Radiohead, infectious eighties synth-pop and obscure sci-fi film scores. The album they've released 'North' is a shift in musical direction from the singles that caught the ears of the music cognoscenti over the past couple of years - as Shaun D Wilson found out when he spoke to James Young.
