So So Modern have played well over a thousand shows over the last six years. Often seen in futuristic neon or white hooded suits, the quartet explode onto stage creating jaunty, angular music that sends audiences into spasms. The band's influences range from Fugazi to Stravinsky, tropicalia to hardcore - and you can hear all these things coming through on their debut longplayer - Crude Futures. They've just returned from the UK and Europe - Kirsten Johnstone spoke to Grayson Gilmour and Mark Leong.
