In 1976 a teenage girl named Marian Said saw an early show by The Sex Pistols, changed her name to Poly Styrene and formed a band called X-Ray Spex. Poly's piercing vocals, along with Lora Logic's incessant sax playing, made X-Ray Spex one of the most original bands of the era. Now, 30 years later, Poly has reformed the band for a one-off show in London. Marty Duda spoke to Poly Styrene on the eve of the release of the DVD and asked her if the British punk scene has become overly romanticized after all these years.
