Auckland's queen bees of twee-pop haven't played much around these parts lately. The past couple of years have seen tours with American indie bands The Shins and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, a record contract with legendary label Subpop, and core brunette Heather Mansfield living in New York. Whether playing as a five piece or a ten piece 'Orchestrette', the Brunettes utilise anything that makes a sweet noise, including marimbas, banjo, cello, trumpet and saxophone.

Hear live material taken from The Brunettes' new album Structure and Cosmetics including 'Her Hairagami Set', and old favourites such as 'Holding Hands Feeding Ducks' 'Talk to Jesus', 'Polyester meets Acetate' and 'Mars Loves Venus'.

The Brunettes are:

Jonathan Bree, vocals and guitar
Heather Mansfield, vocals and keys and glock' and things.

with
Harry Cundy on trumpet and keys
Stephen Hart (ex-Cosbys) on saxophone and guitar
Hayden East (also ex-Cosbys) on bass
and Warkworth's prodigal son John Parker on drums
