The motley hip hop crew of Breakin Wreckwordz have built their independent empire from the ground up, cobbling together a string of grimy releases with shoe string budgets and a whole lotta love. Headed by former community activist Cyphanetik, the label has its roots in left-of-centre music and socialist ideals, ideals that Bee-Dub-Dub have held onto in the face of artist defections to other labels and the rise of the rap star as the pop star. Music Mix reporter Sam Wicks spoke to Cyphanetik about his debut long player on Breakin Wreckwordz, the pessimistically titled Commercial Suicide.
