Poetry Slam Jam

Yazmeen aka Das Ypsilon, a female MC from Bonn in Germany who now lives in NZ, has instituted a unique event called Slam Jam, the first one was held in Auckland in February 2007. 'Slam Jam' is a mix between a poetry slam and a jam with live bands, hence the 'poetry-slam', where participants express themselves poetically on stage. It's a full on event which, in a process determined by audience participation , eventually finds a winner … which on this night was won by Tourettes. Music reporter Trevor Reekie was there.
