Interview: Solomon Islands panpipe group Narasirato | WOMAD 2012

From RNZ Music, 4:00 pm on 14 April 2012

Narasirato come from the tiny Oterama Village in the Solomon Islands' remote southern Malaita province. Adorned in shells, limestone body paint and loin cloths fashioned from tree bark, Narasirato have charmed audiences with infectious grooves played entirely on panpipes, which are blown or struck with jandals.

Emma Smith spoke with band member immy Ho'asimarana before their Womad Taranaki performance.
