Speed Caravan

Medhi Haddab is a virtuoso of the oud, a fretless Arabic lute with a history stretching back over 5,000 years. Making his way from Algeria and eventually relocating to Paris, Mehdi Haddab and his band Speed Caravan were one of the discoveries at Womad 2009, exploring the sound of traditional Arabic music using electronica and a wall of marshall amps.
