RNZ Music is stoked to present the debut single and video from Auckland-based indie-pop artist Isla Noon. ‘Summer in August’ is a dreamy, synth-driven pop song with a beautifully cinematic video.
Shani Sauerman AKA Isla Noon is a pop singer with an edge. Her music combines expansive pop synths with ambitious melodies to deliver a unique style of modern pop music.
‘Summer In August’ is a collaboration between Isla Moon and producer Maude Minnie Morris (LEXXA). Isla wrote the song during a period of “personal healing” in the European summer of 2019, and the track features audio snippets of the pair discussing Isla’s inspiration for the song.
The accompanying music video, shot by NZ-based filmmaker and musician Mareea Vegas, is a film reel style cinematic recollection of summertime in Europe.
‘Summer In August’ is Isla Noon’s debut single, she’s currently working on new music to release in the near future.
