Tablefox frontman Clinton Bell has embraced his Māori heritage in the band’s new single and video, ‘Battles’.
‘Battles’ features a passionate performance from the band and touches on a subject close to frontman Clinton’s heart: “As a person with both European and Māori ties, I would often feel uncomfortable in situations.
“When I was younger, Māori were often portrayed in a negative way in the media, on the TV and around the dinner table. Often, I’d have to take sides and it was easier for me to conform.
“This is about my awakening to a culture with a rich positive history and my journey to embrace it.”
‘Battles’ is the fourth single from Tablefox’s forthcoming album IV
Tablefox are a four-piece alt-rock band with members from Auckland and Hamilton. They released their Debut album Objects in 2015, followed by 2017’s You and I will Find a Way.
The band's third album IV is due mid-2021.
