Kiwi duo Foley are back! RNZ Music is stoked to present this special live performance of their latest single ‘Rendezvous’. It’s the first in a series of stripped-back arrangements they’ll be creating alongside their upcoming releases.
Ash Wallace and Gabriel Everett were long time friends who shared a love of pop music before they decided to join forces as Foley. Honest to a fault, the duo has quickly picked up a fanbase of young like-minded listeners for their confessions of love, loss and learning.
Foley have achieved success both locally and abroad. As well as hitting five million streams on Spotify this year, the pair’s debut EP On my Conscience reached #10 on the NZ Album Charts. Their single ‘Midnight’ was the #1 independent song on NZ radio, and last year they were nominated for the prestigious APRA Silver Scroll award for their fourth single ‘Can’t Help The Way’.
‘Rendevouz’ is a song about the uncontrollable rush of a new relationship, and the overwhelming emotions that come with falling in love. Written with frequent collaborators Ambian & Sleo (Lepani, Nico Walters, LA Women), this stripped-back live version of Rendezvous gives fans a glimpse at another side of Foley.
