RNZ Music is stoked to present the new video for ‘Thinking Too Much’ from Wellington reggae band Toi. It’s their first time teaming up with super-producer Devin Abrams (Drax Project).
Wellington-based reggae band Tunes of I have officially changed their name to Toi. The name change marks a new era for the six-piece ensemble and is a nod to some of the members’ Māori ancestry.
“The word Toi in te reo translates to a number of things, one being the peak or summit of excellence; something that we all drive for.”
The band created ‘Thinking Too Much’ as a reminder to relax and enjoy life with the ones you love. The accompanying music video by Wellington creative Lee Gingold is hyponisiting, beautiful, and relaxing.
Toi are taking their music in a new direction with the help of renowned producer Devin Abrams (Drax Project, Pacific Heights, ex-Shapeshifter). Fans should expect more dance and electro-funk tracks as well as the reggae sound they’re accustomed to hearing from Tunes of I.
