From RNZ Music, 9:59 am on 3 September 2020

RNZ Music is proud to present the new single and video from Hamilton pop-folk trio Looking For Alaska.‘Home’ is from their upcoming album Light and Shadow.

Auckland couple Aaron Gott and Amy Maynard formed folk band Looking For Alaska three years ago when they met bassist Stephen Daniell. Since then, the band has opened for the likes of Fly My Pretties, Herbs and Tiny Ruins.

They released their self titled debut album in October 2016. It spent five weeks on the NZ album chart and was a finalist for Best Independent Debut at the 2017 Taite Music Prize.

Aaron and Amy’s relationship is a core part of the band's lyrics. ‘Home’ is a calming, intimate song about finding the comfort of “home” in your significant other.

The track is the second release from the trio’s upcoming album Light and Shadow, which is out later this year.

‘Home’ features violin work by Pascal Roggen (Albi & The Wolves, Shez Raja) and production from Ben Edwards. An icon in the alt-country scene, Edwards has helped create award-winning albums for Tami Neilson, Marlon Williams, Delaney Davidson and more.

The video was filmed on location at a Tiny House in Raglan and was directed by Chris Lane, who won Best Music Video at the 2016 NZ Music Awards for his work on Avalanche City’s ‘Inside Out’.
